Local care with a personal beginning
Helen founded Abide Home Care in 2016 with the aim of providing compassionate, personalised support to people in Brixham and the surrounding communities.
Since then, Abide has grown into an established independent, family-run care provider with a team of around 60 local people across its care and office teams.
Despite that growth, the personal approach remains central to the business. Helen continues to lead Abide as Managing Director, supported by an experienced local management and office team, while her family also remains involved in the business.
For Abide, good home care is about more than completing a list of tasks. It is about getting to know the individual, understanding their routines and preferences, communicating with families and helping people remain in the home they know for as long as possible.
That same emphasis on relationships also shapes the team. Abide is proud of the longevity of many of its colleagues and works to provide clients with familiar faces wherever possible.
