I would like to thank Abide, Helen and her team, for the professional help, patience and understanding we have received. They have enabled my mother-in-law, who is confused and housebound, to stay in her own home and provided extra support and advice when required. We are delighted with the service provided by Abide. We chose them because they are local and seemed very flexible and able to meet all our needs. In the early days, my brother and sister-in-law took a little while to sort out what service they needed. Abide moulded their services to their needs and they do a great job. Abide are a genuinely caring and proactive team. I think also because they are a local, small care organisation they are able to be flexible. They have supported Dad now for three years and, as his health has declined, have been able to increase the help they provide to meet his needs. As I live some hours away and have serious health issues myself, we rely on Abide for practical and emotional support. As Dad’s memory is now very poor, I am able to liaise with Abide over his appointments so they can make sure he has help to attend. Both Dad and I agree that there is no way he could manage now without their support and we are hugely grateful for all they do.
